A fun and colorful treat perfect for Halloween or themed parties, featuring green-tinted popcorn coated with a sweet, crunchy caramel mixture.

Ingredients

Popcorn

  • 16 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup butter (divided)
  • 2 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup (divided)
  • 1 tsp salt (divided)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (divided)
  • 1 tsp light green food coloring
  • 1 tsp moss green food coloring
  • 1 tsp brown food coloring
  • 2 tsp baking soda (divided)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Spread popcorn on baking sheets.
  • In two saucepans, melt 1/2 of the butter, then stir in sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt. Bring to a boil and cook for 4 minutes.
  • Divide the caramel mixture into bowls, add food coloring, and mix until evenly colored. Stir in baking soda.
  • Pour caramel over popcorn, stir to coat, then bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool before serving.

Use fresh popcorn for best results and ensure even coating for a crunchy treat.
