A flavorful and satisfying dish combining tender steak, colorful peppers, and rice, all topped with green onions.

Ingredients

Rice

  • 1 cup white rice (rinsed and cooked)
  • 1.5 pounds flank steak (seasoned and sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 red red bell pepper (sliced into strips)
  • 1 yellow yellow bell pepper (sliced into strips)
  • 1 small red onion (sliced into strips)
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions

Instructions 

  • Cook rice and set aside.
  • Season steak with salt, garlic powder, and pepper. Sear in oil until medium-rare, then rest and slice thinly.
  • Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, and vinegar to make marinade.
  • Stir-fry peppers and onion until tender, add steak and marinade, cook briefly.
  • Assemble bowls with rice, steak mixture, and garnish with green onions.

Notes

Use a sharp knife to slice the steak thinly for best results.
