  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, ground

Meat

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)

Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon za'atar seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Vegetables

  • 1 shallot shallot, finely chopped (about 1/3 cup)

Herbs

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh Italian parsley or cilantro

Additional Garlic

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Egg

  • 1 egg egg, lightly beaten

Instructions 

  • Mix ground beef with garlic, spices, za'atar, and chopped herbs.
  • Form mixture into patties or crumble and cook in a skillet until browned.
  • In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt with lemon juice and minced garlic.
  • Serve cooked beef topped with a dollop of lemon-garlic yogurt.
