A creamy, cheesy baked pasta dish made in a Dutch oven, perfect for comfort food lovers.

Ingredients

Dairy and Cheese

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 cups cream
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 cups grated cheddar (or other cheese)
  • 2 tsp salt

Herbs of choice (optional)

  • 1 lb dried pasta
  • 2 to 3 cups cubed or shredded mozzarella (or alternative cheese)

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven and cook the pasta until al dente, then drain.
  • Melt butter in the Dutch oven, add garlic (if using) and cook briefly.
  • Whisk in flour, then gradually add cream and milk, stirring until smooth and thickened.
  • Stir in cheese and salt until melted and creamy, then add cooked pasta.
  • Transfer to the oven and bake until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

For extra flavor, add herbs or spices of your choice before baking.
