A fresh and flavorful dish combining soft rice paper strips with a spicy, savory sauce, perfect for a quick and light meal.

Ingredients

Vegetable oil

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

Red chili flakes

  • 1 tbsp red chili flakes (crushed)

Garlic

  • 1 small garlic clove (finely minced)

Green onions

  • 2 tbsp green onions (finely chopped)

Sesame seeds

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Sugar

  • 1 tsp sugar

Soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Water

  • 3 tbsp water

Rice paper sheets

  • 9 sheets rice paper

Fresh cilantro

  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Cucumber

  • 1 small small cucumber (thinly sliced)

Instructions 

  • Heat oil in a pan until hot. Mix chili flakes, garlic, green onions, sesame seeds, and sugar in a bowl. Pour hot oil over and stir in soy sauce and water. Set aside.
  • Soften rice paper in water, stack, brush with oil, and cut into strips. Toss strips in sauce.
  • Garnish with cilantro and cucumber slices. Serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure rice paper is fully softened for easy cutting and tossing.
