Enjoy a quick and flavorful homemade teriyaki chicken bowl, perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 500 g Boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts

Sauce

  • 60 ml Soy sauce
  • 15 g Honey or brown sugar
  • 15 ml Rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 5 g Fresh ginger or ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 30 ml Water

Cooking Oil

  • 1 tbsp Neutral oil

Carbohydrate

  • 2 cups Cooked rice

Toppings (optional but fun)

  • to taste green onions, sesame seeds, steamed broccoli, carrots, or edamame (as desired)

Instructions 

  • Cook rice and set aside.
  • Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  • Whisk soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and water to make sauce.
  • Heat oil in a pan, cook chicken until golden, then add sauce and simmer until thickened.
  • Assemble bowls with rice, chicken, and toppings.

Notes

Use fresh ginger for more flavor, and customize toppings to your preference.
