A delicious and hearty lasagna that's quick to prepare, perfect for a satisfying family dinner.

Ingredients

Dairy

  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Sauces

  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

Herbs & Spices

  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning mix
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley

Produce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped

Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef

Oils & Fats

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Grains & Pasta

  • 9 lasagna noodles lasagna noodles

Dairy & Eggs

  • 1 egg egg

Optional Ingredients

  • N/A Gluten-free lasagna noodles (Optional)
  • N/A Mushrooms or spinach for vegetarian version (Optional)

Instructions 

  • Boil noodles until al dente or use no-boil noodles.
  • Cook onion and garlic in olive oil, add ground beef, then simmer with marinara and Italian seasoning.
  • Mix ricotta, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  • Layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and cheese in a baking dish. Repeat layers and top with cheese.
  • Bake covered at 375°F (190°C) for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with mushrooms or spinach.
