A delicious fall-inspired pastry combining pumpkin, maple, and nuts for a cozy treat.

Pumpkin
0.25cuppumpkin purée(not pumpkin pie filling)
1eggegg (separated)
0.125cupmaple syrup
3tbspbrown sugar (divided)
1tbspmaple extract
0.25cupchopped pecans
0.25cupchopped almonds
1tbsppumpkin pie spice
1tbspcaramel sauce
2tbspcream cheese icing
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out pie crust and prepare pumpkin filling with egg yolk, maple syrup, 2 tbsp brown sugar, maple extract, and half of the nuts.
Spread pumpkin mixture on the crust, cut diagonal strips on sides, and braid over the filling. Brush with egg white mixture.
Bake for 45 minutes until golden. Drizzle with caramel and cream cheese icing, then top with remaining nuts. Serve warm.
Notes
For a richer flavor, toast the nuts before adding.
