Ingredients

Bread

  • 14 ounces French bread loaf (about 12-16 ounces, cubed, day old preferred)
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup butter (melted)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 15 ounces pumpkin puree (plain, not pie filling)
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup butter (cold, cubed)

Instructions 

  • Combine eggs, pumpkin, milk, cream, vanilla, and spices in a bowl.
  • Pour mixture over bread cubes in a baking dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Dot the casserole with cold butter cubes.
  • Bake for 45 minutes until golden and set.

Notes

Serve with maple syrup or whipped cream for extra flavor.
