  • 14 ounces French bread loaf (about 12-16 ounces, 1 inch cubes, day old preferred)
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 cup butter (melted)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 15 ounces pumpkin puree (plain, not pie filling)
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup butter (cold, cubed)

Instructions 

  • Combine eggs, pumpkin, milk, cream, vanilla, and spices in a bowl.
  • Pour mixture over bread cubes in a baking dish, ensuring even coating.
  • Top with cold butter cubes and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes.

Notes

For best results, use day-old bread and serve with maple syrup.
