Ingredients

For the Beef Mixture:

  • 1 pound ground beef or thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper

For the Casserole Base:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

For the Topping:

  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese (or a mix of provolone and mozzarella)
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook beef with vegetables and seasonings until browned and tender.
  • Whisk eggs, heavy cream, Worcestershire, and mustard until smooth.
  • Spread beef mixture in casserole dish, pour egg mixture over, then sprinkle cheeses on top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and set. Rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use thinly sliced steak instead of ground beef for a more authentic texture.
