Pear-Cranberry Crisp

A delicious fall dessert combining sweet pears and tart cranberries topped with a crunchy pecan streusel.

Ingredients

Dried Fruit

  • 1 1/2 cups dfd
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries, rinsed and drained
  • 3 large firm-ripe Anjou pears, peeled and thinly sliced (about 2 lb.)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Optional

  • Vanilla or cinnamon ice cream (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix flour, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, and pecans; chill for 10 minutes.
  • Combine cranberries, pears, sugar, maple syrup, cornstarch, vanilla, and cinnamon; spoon into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle with topping mixture.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and browned. Cool for 1 hour. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

Notes

Chill the topping for better crumbling texture.
