Ingredients

Dairy and Seasonings

  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 1.5 cups freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts (cut into 1-inch pieces)
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 4 cups uncooked penne pasta
  • 2 cups heavy cream

Garnish and Serving

  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Extra Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Heat butter in a large skillet. Cook chicken with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning until golden, then transfer to a plate.
  • Reduce heat, sauté garlic, then add chicken broth, scraping browned bits from the pan.
  • Add pasta, simmer 10-12 minutes until al dente, then stir in heavy cream and cook 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix in Parmesan cheese until melted, return chicken, and simmer 5 minutes. Garnish with parsley and extra cheese.

Notes

Use freshly shredded Parmesan for best flavor.
