A delicious plant-based dish featuring crispy tofu coated in a sweet and savory maple glaze, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 14 oz extra firm tofu, pressed and cut into cubes
  • 2 tablespoons oil (we use avocado)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Pinch black pepper

Garnish

  • toasted sesame seeds and green onions

Instructions 

  • Press and cube the tofu, then coat with a mixture of cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook tofu until golden, about 10 minutes.
  • Whisk soy sauce, maple syrup, and vinegar to make the glaze.
  • Pour the glaze over the tofu, cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened, then serve topped with sesame seeds and green onions.

Notes

Ensure tofu is pressed well to achieve maximum crispiness.
