Spooky and delicious brownies topped with fluffy marshmallow ghosts, perfect for Halloween celebrations.
Ingredients
Dough
½
cup
unsalted butter
(cut into cubes for faster melting. Salted butter works too - just skip the added salt in the recipe)
4
ounce
dark chocolate
(chopped from a bar (70% cocoa is ideal). Chocolate chips work in a pinch but bars melt smoother)
1
cup
granulated sugar
(standard white sugar. You can swap half for brown sugar for a deeper, more molasses-like flavor)
2
large
eggs
(at room temperature. Cold eggs can cause the melted chocolate mixture to seize slightly)
1
teaspoon
pure vanilla extract
(adds warmth and depth. Imitation vanilla works but pure is noticeably better here)
¾
cup
all-purpose flour
¼
cup
unsweetened cocoa powder
(Dutch-process cocoa gives a darker, richer color. Natural cocoa works fine too)
¼
teaspoon
salt
(skip if using salted butter. Salt balances the sweetness and deepens the chocolate flavor)
½
teaspoon
baking powder
(just a small amount - enough to give a slight lift without making the brownies cakey)
1
cup
marshmallow fluff
32
mini
chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter and dark chocolate together until smooth.
Mix in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder; fold into the batter.
Pour batter into a greased baking pan and bake for 25 minutes. Let cool completely.
Spread marshmallow fluff evenly over cooled brownies.
Decorate with mini chocolate chips to resemble spooky eyes or ghosts. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
For extra spooky effect, pipe marshmallow fluff into ghost shapes before decorating with chocolate chips.
