A flavorful and creamy garlic chicken dish perfect for a comforting meal. Quick to prepare with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts, halved horizontally
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for cooking chicken)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for sauce)
  • 1 tbsp freshly minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 300 ml thickened (heavy) cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan

Sea salt flakes, to taste

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

  • to taste Black pepper

Served with

  • Mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta (to serve)
  • Steamed greens (to serve)
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • for serving Lemon wedges

Instructions 

  • Slice chicken breasts horizontally, season with salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and thyme.
  • Coat chicken in flour. Cook in oil and butter until golden, 5–6 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté garlic in butter, add chicken stock, then cream and mustard. Simmer until thickened.
  • Stir in parmesan, season, return chicken, and heat through for 2–3 minutes.
  • Serve with sides, garnish with parsley, and squeeze lemon over.

Notes

Ensure not to overcook the chicken to keep it tender.
