Ingredients

Pasta

  • 12 ounces short-cut pasta such as shells, penne, or rotini

Dairy

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (finely shredded by hand)

Meat

  • 1 pound lean ground beef

Broth & Seasonings

  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian herb blend
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or more to preference)

Garlic

  • 4 cloves fresh garlic cloves (minced finely)

Garnish

  • Optional chopped flat-leaf parsley (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Bring a large salted water to a boil, cook pasta until tender, then drain.
  • Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned; drain excess grease.
  • Add butter and minced garlic; cook 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Mix in pasta, beef broth, herbs, salt, and pepper; toss to coat.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese; simmer 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle with additional Parmesan or fresh herbs before serving.
