These colorful, spooky cookies are perfect for Halloween or any fun occasion, featuring green and black dough stitched together for a creepy effect.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp matcha powder
  • 2 tbsp black cocoa powder

Coating

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
  • Mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until dough forms. Divide into two.
  • Color one dough with matcha and the other with cocoa powder. Form small balls, combine one green and one black, then roll in sugar.
  • Place on baking sheets, leaving space. Bake for 12-15 minutes, then cool.

Notes

Chill dough if too soft for easier handling.
