A delicious twist on classic grilled cheese, featuring sweet apple slices and sharp cheddar for a cozy fall treat.

  • 1/2 apple apple, thinly sliced (honey crisp)
  • 2 slices sourdough or bread of choice
  • ~0.33-0.5 cup fresh grated/shredded cheddar cheese (about 2-4 slices cheese)
  • 1-2 tablespoons butter, divided

Instructions 

  • Heat ½-1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Cook apple slices 2-3 minutes each side until browned and softened.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice. Assemble sandwich with apples and cheese inside.
  • Add another tablespoon of butter to pan. Cook sandwich 3-5 minutes per side, pressing down if needed.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Use a sturdy bread like sourdough to hold the fillings well.
