Ingredients

Meat and Seasonings

  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade equivalent)

Tortillas and Chips

  • 6-8 small tortillas small tortillas (or 4 cups tortilla chips)

Cheese

  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)

Additional Toppings

  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup black beans
  • 1 cup corn kernels
  • 0.5 cup sour cream (for topping)
  • 0.5 cup diced tomatoes (for topping)
  • 0.25 cup chopped cilantro (for topping)
  • 0.5 avocado sliced or diced (for topping)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook ground meat with taco seasoning until browned.
  • Layer tortillas or chips in a baking dish, then spread cooked meat over the top.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the layer.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Top with salsa, black beans, corn, sour cream, tomatoes, cilantro, and avocado before serving.
