A quick and flavorful shrimp dish with sweet chili and garlic, perfect for a quick meal or appetizer.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1.5 pounds jumbo shrimp with tails on (fresh or frozen thawed)
  • 3-4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (unsalted or salted)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons seafood broth or water (warm boiled)
  • 2 medium red chilis (thinly sliced with seeds)
  • 2 teaspoons parsley (finely chopped)
  • 4 tablespoons sweet garlic chili sauce (or spicy sauce)
  • to taste red pepper flakes (for garnish)
  • to taste lime wedges or lemon (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook 1 minute per side until pink. Set aside.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low. Deglaze with broth, add garlic and chilis, and cook 30 seconds. Stir in chili sauce.
  • Return shrimp to pan, coat with sauce, and cook 1-2 minutes. Remove shrimp to serving plate.
  • Add butter and parsley to sauce, simmer briefly, then pour over shrimp. Serve immediately with rice or noodles.

Notes

Adjust seasoning and spice level to taste. Serve with lime wedges for added flavor.
