A delicious vegan dish featuring crispy tofu coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 14 oz Extra-Firm Tofu (pressed and cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 1/4 cup Cornstarch
  • 2-3 tbsp Avocado Oil (or other high-heat neutral oil)
  • to taste Salt and Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce (low-sodium if preferred)
  • 3 tbsp Honey (or maple syrup)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Cornstarch (mixed with 2 tsp water)

Instructions 

  • Press tofu for 30 minutes, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
  • Toss tofu with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until coated.
  • Whisk soy sauce, honey, garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil; simmer and add cornstarch slurry to thicken.
  • Fry tofu in oil until golden and crispy, or air fry at 400°F for 15-20 minutes.
  • Gently toss crispy tofu in sauce, garnish, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double coat the tofu with cornstarch.
