A hearty and creamy pasta dish combining ground beef, tomatoes, and herbs for a satisfying meal in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Oil

  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil

Aromatics

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 piece onion, finely chopped

Meat

  • 500 g ground beef

Herbs & Spices

  • 2 tsp Italian herbs (or oregano, basil, and parsley)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

Canned & Jarred Goods

  • 400 g crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Salt & Pepper

  • 1.5 tsp cooking salt / kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Broth & Pasta

  • 4 cups low sodium chicken broth
  • 350 g short pasta (penne, fusilli, or macaroni)

Dairy

  • 0.75 cup heavy cream

Optional Toppings

  • grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions 

  • Heat oil in a large pot over high heat.
  • Sauté garlic and onion for 1.5 minutes, then add beef and cook until browned.
  • Stir in herbs, tomato paste, then add crushed tomatoes, broth, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer.
  • Add pasta and cook uncovered for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in cream and cook for 1–2 minutes until sauce is silky. Serve with Parmesan and parsley if desired.

Notes

For a richer flavor, let the sauce simmer longer before adding the cream.
