Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Wet ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • Cream softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then stir in milk and vanilla extract.
  • Mix dry ingredients separately, then combine with wet ingredients until just blended.
  • Pour half of batter into pan, drop spoonfuls of peanut butter, then top with remaining batter and swirl.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, cool for 10 minutes, then serve.

Notes

Ensure not to overmix the batter for a tender crumb.
