A hearty and flavorful chili mac that combines ground beef, pasta, and a savory sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

ground beef

  • 1 pound ground beef

garlic

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)

green bell pepper

  • 1 green green bell pepper (diced)

yellow onion

  • 1 small small yellow onion (diced)

chili powder

  • 2 teaspoons chili powder

Kosher salt and black pepper

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

beef broth

  • 3.5 cups beef broth

elbow macaroni

  • 12 ounces elbow macaroni

ketchup

  • 2/3 cup ketchup

mustard

  • 1 tablespoon mustard

brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

hot sauce

  • to taste Hot sauce

mild Cheddar cheese

  • 2.5 cups grated mild Cheddar

fresh parsley

  • for garnish Fresh parsley

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef, garlic, bell pepper, and onion; cook until beef is browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Add chili powder, salt, pepper, beef broth, macaroni, ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar. Simmer until macaroni is tender, about 9-10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, stir in cheese until melted, then garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or garnish with additional parsley.
