A flavorful and healthy Chicken Shawarma Salad combining marinated chicken with fresh vegetables and tahini sauce.

Ingredients

Marinade ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs (thinly sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 garlic cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • teaspoon crushed red pepper

Salad ingredients

  • 1 head romaine lettuce (chopped)
  • 3 roma tomatoes chopped
  • 2 Persian cucumbers chopped
  • ½ red onion sliced
  • 2 ounces pickled sliced banana peppers
  • ½ cup tahini sauce

Garnish

  • chopped parsley

Instructions 

  • Whisk marinade ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Add chicken, coat evenly, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Cook marinated chicken in a skillet until cooked through, about 15 minutes.
  • Divide vegetables into bowls, top with cooked chicken, drizzle with tahini, and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Marinate the chicken overnight for more flavor.
