A flavorful and aromatic rice dish infused with herbs and cooked in chicken stock, perfect as a side or main course.
Ingredients
Rice

cup
long grain rice (washed and rinsed)
1 to 2
cups
chicken stock
(depending on the cooking method)

garlic powder

teaspoon
onion powder
½ to ¾
teaspoon
dried herbs (oregano, rosemary, marjoram, thyme, parsley, etc.)

turmeric (optional)
(mainly used to add color)

Instructions
In a pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the rice and sauté for 2 minutes until lightly toasted.
Pour in the chicken stock, add herbs, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, and salt. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.
Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
Notes
You can add cooked chicken or vegetables for a complete meal.
