A creamy and cheesy baked chicken pasta dish that's perfect for a comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 1 box penne pasta (16 ounces)

Chicken

  • 3 cups boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-size pieces (about 1 pound)

Seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Oil and Aromatics

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Sauces and Cheeses

  • 2 jars Alfredo sauce (15 ounces each)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch dish.
  • Cook pasta until 2 minutes before al dente, then drain.
  • Toss chicken with seasonings, cook with onions and garlic until cooked through.
  • Combine cooked chicken, pasta, sauces, and cheeses in dish, top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for 10-15 minutes until bubbly. Cool 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh grated Parmesan for best flavor. Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
