A creamy and cheesy baked pasta dish featuring tender chicken and rich Alfredo sauce, perfect for a comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 12 ounces penne pasta (cooked al dente)

Protein

  • 3 pieces cooked chicken breasts (diced)

Dairy

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon powdered garlic
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Melt butter in a large pan, whisk in flour, then add milk and cream; simmer until thickened.
  • Stir in parmesan, 1 cup mozzarella, garlic, salt, and pepper until melted.
  • Add pasta and chicken, combine, then transfer to baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella.
  • Bake for 25 minutes until bubbly and cheese browns. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, use part-skim cheese and less butter.
