A quick and flavorful pasta dish featuring fresh cherry tomatoes, basil, and Parmesan cheese, perfect for a light meal.

Ingredients

Pasta

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 2 pints cherry tomatoes
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 cup fresh basil, chopped ((plus more for serving))
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese ((plus more for serving))

Instructions 

  • Cook spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente; reserve ½ cup of water, then drain.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet; cook cherry tomatoes for 5 minutes until soft.
  • Add garlic, salt, red pepper flakes; cook 1 minute, then crush tomatoes to release juices.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes until sauce thickens; add cooked pasta, basil, Parmesan, and reserved water; toss.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with extra basil and Parmesan if desired.

Notes

Use fresh basil for the best flavor and adjust seasoning to taste.
