A quick and cheesy pasta dish combining the flavors of a cheeseburger with the comfort of pasta, perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Meat and Pasta

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni

Vegetables and Seasonings

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Salt and pepper (to taste)

Sauces and Cheese

  • 1 can (15 oz) sloppy joe sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Garnish

  • Sliced pickles, for garnish (optional) sliced pickles (optional)

Instructions 

  • Cook beef and onion: Sauté ground beef and chopped onion until browned and soft. Drain excess fat.
  • Season and add sauce: Stir in garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, then add sloppy joe sauce. Mix well.
  • Add pasta and water: Stir in uncooked macaroni and cover with water (~2 cups). Bring to a boil.
  • Simmer: Reduce heat and cook for 12-14 minutes until pasta is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Finish with cheese: Remove from heat, stir in shredded cheddar until melted and creamy.
  • Serve: Top with sliced pickles if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

For a healthier option, use lean beef and reduce cheese amount.
