A fresh and simple Italian salad featuring ripe tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ripe tomatoes (sliced 1/4-inch thick)
  • 12-16 oz fresh mozzarella (sliced 1/4-inch thick)
  • 1 bunch fresh basil (about 1/3 cup leaves)
  • 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp sea salt (to taste)
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)

Instructions 

  • Layer tomato slices on a platter, inserting mozzarella slices between each.
  • Add basil leaves among the layers.
  • Season with salt and pepper, then drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze.

Notes

Use ripe tomatoes for the best flavor.
