Enjoy a flavorful bourbon-marinated salmon with a perfect sear and tender finish, inspired by Longhorn Steakhouse.
Ingredients

lower-sodium soy sauce

light brown sugar
(lightly packed)

tablespoon
fresh minced garlic
(roughly 3 medium cloves)

tablespoon
freshly grated ginger
(generally a 1-inch piece)
Juice of 1

lime
1/4
teaspoon
fresh ground black pepper
(a few turns of a grinder)

olive oil
Optional garnish
to taste
thinly sliced green onions or chives, lime or lemon wedges
Instructions
Whisk bourbon, soy sauce, and brown sugar until dissolved. Stir in ginger, garlic, black pepper, and lime juice.
Pour marinade into a dish, add salmon, then pour remaining marinade over. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Heat a skillet over high heat, add olive oil after 30 seconds.
Place salmon in skillet, seared for 2 minutes, then flip and transfer to oven. Roast for 3-7 minutes depending on thickness.
Rest the salmon briefly, then remove skin if desired. Garnish with green onions and lime wedges. Serve with sides.
Notes
Ensure not to overcook the salmon for best tenderness.
