Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 6 Tablespoons salted butter (cold)
  • ½ cup half and half
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cinnamon chips
  • 1-2 Tablespoons raw turbinado sugar

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix dry ingredients, cut in butter until coarse crumbs.
  • Add liquids and stir until crumbly but clumping. Mix in cinnamon chips.
  • Form dough into a 10-inch circle on floured surface, cut into 8 wedges.
  • Transfer to baking sheet, sprinkle with sugar, and bake for 16-20 minutes.
