A quick and flavorful dish combining tender beef, vegetables, and rice stir-fried with savory sauces.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb beef (flank steak, sirloin, or skirt steak), thinly sliced

Grains

  • 4 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old, cold rice)

Oils & Sauces

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional, for added depth of flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (for finishing)

Vegetables & Aromatics

  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, bell peppers, or corn)

Eggs

  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten

Seasonings & Garnishes

  • Salt and pepper, to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)

Instructions 

  • Season beef with salt and pepper. Sear in 1 tbsp oil until browned, then set aside.
  • In the same pan, sauté onion and garlic, then add mixed vegetables and cook until tender.
  • Push vegetables aside, scramble eggs in the empty space, then combine with vegetables.
  • Add rice, stir to combine, then pour soy, oyster (if using), and sesame oils. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Return beef to pan, stir well, cook for another 1-2 minutes, then garnish with green onions and serve.

Notes

Use day-old rice for best texture and flavor.
