A fresh and flavorful salad combining tuna and creamy avocados with a zesty twist, perfect for a quick, healthy meal.

Ingredients

Canned Goods

  • 2 cans tuna (preferably albacore) (drained)
  • 2 pieces ripe avocados (halved and pitted)
  • 0.25 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 red red bell pepper, diced
  • 0.25 cup cilantro, chopped (or parsley if preferred)
  • 1 piece lemon or lime (juice of 1)
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
  • optional chopped cucumber or celery (optional)
  • 1 small jalapeño (finely chopped, optional)

Instructions 

  • Drain the tuna and place in a bowl; break into smaller pieces.
  • Chop red onion, bell pepper, and cilantro; add to the bowl.
  • Mash avocados until smooth; add to the bowl and mix.
  • Pour lemon/lime juice over mixture; season with salt, pepper, and optional olive oil. Add optional cucumber, celery, or jalapeño if desired.
  • Gently stir everything together and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a dash of hot sauce or extra lime juice.
